Multi Purpose Facility Plans

The multi purpose facility concept is the result of many hours of research and planning by an enthusiastic group from the Waimate community and council.  In Waimate's Sport and Recreation plan it was identified that the community needed improved facilities ideally under one roof.

Architect Noel Welford has drawn a concept plan incorparating sports, recreation, and community needs.  The concept incorporates covered lap pool and spa, sports stadium, gymnasium, community lounge and kitchen, cafe, and library.   The proposed site for this facility is Boland Park, by the existing Norman Kirk swimming pool.
