What Do We Do Now?

Council provides approximately 4km of stormwater pipes and some open channel in the Waimate township to collect and dispose of stormwater.

Tasks

Tasks are the routine matters that Council will attend to every year, in order to maintain service levels set in agreement with our community.

Maintain and operate a stormwater collection system, which is channelled into the Waimate urban drainage scheme or smaller disposal soakpits in other urban areas.

The effective control of stormwater is necessary to protect the health and safety of the community and minimise property damage.

Our Service Levels

To maintain and operate a public stormwater system designed to minimise surface flooding for rainfalls with a severity that is predicted to occur once every five years in the Waimate Urban area.
