Following a successful 2008 Waimate Woodcraft Expo the organising Committee would like to thank the many sponsors and Alpine Energy the principal sponsor for supporting the 2 day event.
The Expo provided a unique opportunity to showcase woodcraft skills and artistry from around New Zealand. Many visitors enjoyed the wide range of activities and demonstrations as well as the woodcraft items entered into the competitions. Complimentary comments were received from the visiting people who enjoyed the opportunity to view such a diverse range of woodcraft techniques being demonstrated from the traditional to contemporary.
This Rotary Club of Waimate initiative aimed to raise funds to benefit the community, celebrate the timber heritage of the area and to raise awareness for the Waimate Bushtown project.
