Waitaki Lakes Camping

 

The Waimate District Council operates 4 large camp sites in the Waitaki Valley, which are open for a season from October to April.  They are sited along the shores of Lake Aviemore, and are particularly popular for those people who enjoy spending their recreation time in and around water.

 

The Lakes is a breath taking area to have a holiday, bring your family and friends and fill your days with one of the many activities on offer.

 

Swimming, boating, water-skiing, canoeing, picnics, tramping, fishing or stay at the campsite and catch up on some reading, rest and relaxation!!

 

The camp grounds are:

Fisherman's Bend Reserve             Briar's Gully

Te Akatarawa Reserve                 Waitangi Reserve

       

Facilities vary from site to site with toilet facilities and effluent disposal facilities, boat ramps, drinking water available, tent and caravan sites available (no power) available.

 

Season tickets 2008/2009  -  $220.00

(Per site for whole season for a single family group consisting of two adults and dependents 15 years and under inclusive. Extra adults $6.00 per night)

 

Overnight tickets - $12.00

 

Tickets obtained from camp registration booths and camp supervisors.  Procedures for payment is written on the ticket boxes.

All caravans and tents left on site during the season MUST have a season ticket displayed at ALL times or they will be removed.
