LIFTING OF FIRE RESTRICTIONS

MID-SOUTH CANTERBURY AREA

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to the provisions of Section 19 - 23 of the Forest and Rural Fires Act 1977 it is advised that the current restrictions controlling lighting of fires in the whole area of the Mid South Canterbury Rural Fire District between the Rakaia River to the Waitaki River, sea to the Alps have been lifted effective from midnight FRIDAY 21ST APRIL 2017

FIRE RESTRICTIONS within Forest Areas

A reminder that a 365 day restricted fire season remains within 1 kilometre of both Waimate and Geraldine Forest Areas. A fire permit will be required for persons lighting fires within these areas.
