This role requires someone with well-developed negotiation and conflict resolution skills. You will need previous investigation and reporting experience and be an effective liaison and relationship manager. You will work closely with the community to ensure understanding and compliance for resource management, Council Bylaws, roading compliance, environmental monitoring and enforcement work within the Waimate District.
You must be a people person with a calm and helpful nature for this education and enforcement focused role. There is a high level of customer contact requiring excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills. You will also be comfortable and knowledgeable about how to gather evidence, interview people and prepare investigation files to a high standard.
Waimate is situated less than 2½ hours from Dunedin or Christchurch and just half an hour from Timaru or Oamaru. It is close to the sea, lakes and mountains, boasting a great lifestyle. Waimate is a small community with a population of 7,500 and is a highly productive agricultural region with a broad and expanding farming sector. Your role will be to promote the Waimate District as a tourist, visitor and event destination with the aim of growing the district’s visitor economy.
To do this you’ll be digital and social media savvy, have a creative mind and be highly motivated and want to achieve results.
You’ll develop targeted marketing campaigns and promotional material, attend shows/expos and grow engagement on the Explore Waimate digital platforms including the website, Facebook and Instagram.
If you can write creatively, use Adobe products, have a passion for this type of work and have sound experience with digital and social media platforms, then we want to hear from you.
