Traffic management

In the interests of public safety, traffic management must be considered when work is to be done on any public space or Council-owned road reserve.
A Traffic Management Plan (TMP) must be completed and submitted to Council.
Depending on the nature of the work either a full TMP or short TMP must be completed (see below). A full TMP must be completed for complex activities. These could be (but not limited to):
- Resealing
- Shoulder widening
- Road reconstruction
New developments
When proposing new developments such as construction of a new milking shed or other farm operation involving trucks, consideration must be given to how trucks will access the property. For example, a truck must not stop on the road, it must be able to turn off the road onto the property. Also, a truck driver must have at least one (1) metre clearance from the road when alighting from the vehicle.
