Re-Opening of Waimate Main School Hall
I enjoyed the opportunity to be amongst the pupils, staff and supporters of Waimate Main School for the re-opening of their newly refurbished School Hall recently. Congratulations to the people involved in this project which has provided a building that will service the school for many years into the future.

Victoria Park Playground Opening
We are excited to officially open the new Victoria Park Playground next Saturday, 7 October 2017. This will be in the form of a family-friendly event from 11.00am until 1.00pm, offering a free sausage sizzle, lolly scramble, activities, games and more. We want to encourage as many children and parents as possible to come along to celebrate this fabulous new playground.

School Holiday Programme
Just a reminder that the Waimate Event Centre is offering a fun filled school holiday programme again over the next two weeks. There will be plenty of action-based activities including badminton, table-tennis, fencing, skating, and climbing. You can view the programme at www.waimatedc.govt.nz, or pick up a print-out from the Waimate Library and Event Centre.

And at the Waimate Library on Tuesday 3 October 2017 between 10.30am and 12.30pm, staff from Hell Pizza will be handing out pizzas to children as part of the Library’s Hell Reading Challenge. Children, come along and talk about your latest reading achievements and claim your free pizza.
