How to apply for a building consent
Applying for a building consent can be a complex task and we recommend you enlist a professional.
There are a number of documents required, including (but not limited to):
|Site plan, showing buildings, ground and floor levels, and dimensions||Outline floor plans (for all floors)|
|Outline elevations||Outline cross sections|
|Foundation plans (timber or concrete slab)||Drainage plans|
|Detailed floor plans||Detailed elevations|
|Cross sections||Timber treatment|
|Framing details||Construction details|
|Weathertightness details and risk matrix for each elevation||Internal waterproofing details|
|Bracing design||Roof truss design|
|Engineer’s details and producer statements||Specified systems noted along with maintenance and inspection details|
Council will send an invoice for the application fees once the processing has been completed.
Applying for a building consent
As well as providing a number of different documents to support the application the Building Consent Application must also be completed.
