Waitaki Lakes Camping
2017/2018 Lakes Camping Reserves Season opens September 2017 and closes May 2018.
Set up of camps NOT BEFORE (date TBA) September 2017.
Camps must be cleared by (date TBA) May 2018.
The Waimate District Council operates 4 large camp sites in the Waitaki Valley, which are open for a season from September to May. They are sited along the shores of Lake Aviemore and Waitaki and are particularly popular for those people who enjoy spending their recreation time in and around water.
The Lakes is a breath taking area to have a holiday, bring your family and friends and fill your days with one of the many activities on offer.
Swimming, boating, water skiing, canoeing, picnics, tramping, fishing or stay at the campsite and catch up on some reading, rest and relaxation!!
The camp grounds are located at:
- Fisherman's Bend Reserve
- Briar's Gully
- Te Akatarawa Reserve
- Waitangi Reserve
- and Lakeside Areas:
Facilities vary from site to site with toilet facilities and porta-pottie disposal facilities (please note; no dump station facility available), boat ramps, drinking water available, tent and caravan sites available (no power)
Please note TICKETS TO BE PURCHASED UPON ARRIVAL AND BE CLEARLY DISPLAYED AT ALL TIMES.

- Site per night $20.00 (2 adults & Dependants under 16 years)
- Extra Adult per night $10.00
- Individual Adult Camper per night $10.00
