Three Waters Technical Administrator

We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced, technically minded administration person to join our Asset Group to assist and support the day-to-day delivery of service levels and regulatory compliance requirements for the District’s Three Water infrastructure network.

Your key responsibilities will include:
- Overseeing implementation of compliance, asset management, and water meter software solutions.
- Monitoring and ensuring recorded data is accurate for compliance purposes.
- Assisting in the development and implementation of Water Safety Plans, and standard operating procedures.
- Coordination of Three Waters monitoring, ensuring compliance requirements are met (calendar and audits).
- Assisting in the taking of Three Waters monitoring samples.
- Coordinating and assisting with responses to breaches.
- Ensuring compliance requirements are being met and recorded for consent condition monitoring.
- Ensuring field data collected by Three Waters field staff is accurate.
- Maintaining familiarity with current performance measures (both financial and non-financial).
- Health and Safety administration for the Three Waters team.
- Assisting in populating and assigning service requests, monitoring response times to ensure performance targets are met.
- Monitoring of SCADA trends and alarms and advising field staff of issues.
- Other administrative duties such as invoicing and purchase orders.
Our ideal candidate for this role will have experience in compliance – especially the ability to interpret and apply Three Waters Legislation, standards and guidelines.
Other ‘must haves’ are a good understanding of HSWA, the ability to work independently, problem solve and analyse complex information, the ability to create plain English procedures and reports, excellent communication skills and good Microsoft Office skills.
The icing on the cake would be Local Government experience and New Zealand qualifications in Drinking Water and Waste Water, operational knowledge of water or wastewater and storm water treatment and network systems, and working knowledge of IT solutions used in Three Waters e.g. Univerus, Lutra ID, and SCADA to aid management of assets, levels of service and compliance requirements.

Planner - Regulatory and Compliance Group

About the role:
As part of the Regulatory and Compliance Group, the Planner is responsible for administering and meeting statutory requirements of the Resource Management Act 1991 and the Local Government Act 1974.
If resource management, district plans, compliance and policy are words that spin your wheels - then this could be the role for you!
Key responsibilities include:
- Land use and subdivision consents.
- Environmental effects assessments.
- Compliance monitoring of resource consents and the effectiveness of the District Plan.
- Project information memorandum (PIM's) and Land information memorandum (LIM's) planning components.
- Liquor licencing as it relates to planning.
- Forestry notification as it relates to planning.
- Receive Resource Management enquiries/complaints and assist in the satisfactory resolution/response.
- Provide advice on relevant legislation, plans, policy statements and standards, and ensure the planning activity is conducted in accordance with legal and best practice requirements.
- District Plan reviews and changes.
- Submissions and other planning instruments e.g. Regional Policy Statements, Regional Plans, and Government environmental plans.
- Annual Environment reporting and surveys.
To succeed in this role, you will need:
We are looking for someone with a minimum two years' experience as either a Planner or Graduate Planner
- Excellent computer, administration and report writing skills
