Waimate District Civic Awards
Nominations are sought each year for the annual Waimate District Civic Awards. The awards recognise persons, groups and organisations that have carried out significant and meritorious community service within the Waimate District.
The recipients of the 2010 Civic Awards were Janet Williams, Bobbie Laurie, David Henshaw and Valerie Johnston.
The recipients of the 2011 Civic Awards were Alec Barltrop, Winnie Todd, John Campbell and Bryan Briggs.
The recipients of the 2012 Civic Awards were Judy Clarke, Jim Rayner, Jim Young and Fred Wallace.
The recipients of the 2013 Civic Awards were Christine Bailey, Barry Morgan, Steve Venrooy and David White.
The recipients of the 2014 Civic Awards were Ngaire Bond, Matt Henderson, Kathy McCulloch, Stephen and Kathy McGirr.
The recipients of the 2015 Civic Awards are Max Crean, Joan Dennison, Geoff Lienert, Jean Patterson. Elliot Wilson received the Youth Civic Award (new Award).
The recipients of the 2016 Civic Awards were Graeme Lane, Robert Todd, Anne McGowan, Lorraine Cousins, Briana Cain (Youth), Martyn Jenson (Group/Organisation: Centrecare Counselling)
The recipients of the 2017 Civic Awards were Lyndsay Hossack, Alf Billett, Glen Billett, Denise Campbell, Nancy Dobbie, Rochelle Wilson (Youth) Deputy Fire Chief Roger Bell (Group/Organisation); Ross Hedley (Posthumous Award to the family of the late Cheryl Hedley
