Civic Awards

Each year Waimate Civic Awards are awarded to people who have been recognised for their community service in the voluntary sector.

Council advertises the annual awards each year, asking that people nominate someone who has made a significant, voluntary contribution to Waimate.

The 2026 Waimate Civic Awards will take place at a formal ceremony on 14 October 2026.

Recipients are honoured for the work they tirelessly do in the district, often with little thanks or recognition.

The search is on for Waimate District's 2026 Civic Award recipients.

Nominations open 1 July 2026 and close 1 September 2026.
