Each year Waimate Civic Awards are awarded to people who have been recognised for their community service in the voluntary sector.
Council advertises the annual awards each year, asking that people nominate someone who has made a significant, voluntary contribution to Waimate.
The 2026 Waimate Civic Awards took place at a formal
ceremony on 14 October 2026.
"While we've recognised a handful formally through these prestigious awards, we know there are many more deserving individuals who are the heartbeat of our communities," said Mayor Craig Rowley. "Our thanks go out to all those helping ensure the Waimate District is a great place to live and thrive."
