Road Closures: Hunts Road, Wales, Centre, and Short Streets (Stage 2)

Please be advised that on 1 September, staged road closures began on Hunts Road, Wales Street, Centre Street and Short Street as part of the installation of new watermains.
For Stage 2: Hunts Road will be closed from Manchester Street to Wales Street from Monday 21 September 2026.
Resident access to properties within the closure area will be maintained throughout the construction period. Closures are planned between 7 am and 6 pm.
The project involves road closures in four stages:
- Stage 1: Hunts Road (Closed from Mill Road to Manchester Street)
- Stage 2: Hunts Road (Closed from Manchester Street to Wales Street)
- Stage 3: Hunts Road (Closed from Wales Street to Fitzmaurice Road)
- Stage 4: Closed at Wales Street, Centre Street and Short Street
Further updates, including start dates for subsequent stages, will be provided as works progress. The project is expected to continue through to late October 2026.
