The Waimate District Council wishes to advise residents and road users that the East Coast Endurance Riding Club will be holding its Willowbridge Ride on Saturday 26 September and Sunday 27 September 2026.
The event will be based in the Willowbridge area, with riders travelling on sections of the following roads:
- Willowbridge Road
- Crowes Road
- Horsnells Road
- Faulkners Road
- Bradshaws Road
- Hannaton Road
- Fletchers Road
- Lindsays Road
- Maori Road
Riders will be on the course from approximately 5am on Saturday and 6am on Sunday. Event signage and caution signs will be placed along the route to help promote the safety of participants and road users.
Motorists are asked to drive with care, slow down when approaching horses, and allow plenty of room when passing riders. Horses can be easily startled by sudden movements, excessive speed, or loud noise.
The organisers have advised that riders will be briefed to obey all road rules and give way to traffic where required.
The Council appreciates the cooperation of all road users in helping ensure a safe event for participants and the travelling public.
