Road Closures, Stage 4: Wales Street, Centre Street, and Short Street

Please be advised that staged road closures are continuing on Hunts Road, Wales Street, Centre Street and Short Street as part of the installation of new watermains.

From 7 am Wednesday 7 October 2026, Hunts Road will reopen and works will move into Wales Street, Centre Street and Short Street, which will be closed for Stage 4 of the project.

Resident access to properties within the closure areas will be maintained throughout the construction period. Closures are planned between 7 am and 6 pm.

The project has involved road closures in four stages:

• Stage 1: Hunts Road – Mill Road to Manchester Street

• Stage 2: Hunts Road – Manchester Street to Wales Street

• Stage 3: Hunts Road – Wales Street to Fitzmaurice Road

• Stage 4: Wales Street, Centre Street and Short Street

Further updates will be provided as works progress. The project is expected to continue through to late October 2026.
