Road Closure: Benmore Dam Road, 13-14 October

(This post updates an earlier announcement on 5 October)
Meridian Energy is planning on completing maintenance on the Benmore Dam structure and advises that Benmore Dam Road will be closed to all traffic on the following dates and times (including a contingency date for poor weather):
• Tuesday 13 October 2026: 8:30 am to 12:30 pm
• Wednesday 14 October 2026: 8:30 am to 4 pm
On Tuesday 13th all motorised, pedal power and walking traffic will be unable to cross the dam top.
On the 14th between 12pm - 1pm there will be escorted crossings to reduce the impact of this closure.
All other vehicle, pedal, and pedestrian access will be unavailable during the closure period.
