Roading contract extended
Council has confirmed a two‑year extension of its Road Network Operations and Maintenance Contract, helping ensure local roads continue to be well maintained and value for money is delivered for ratepayers.

Council is trialling an informal way for residents to engage with their elected members through Let’s Chat Thursday. Residents are encouraged to use Let’s Chat Thursday to provide feedback on Council services, share ideas for district improvement, discuss local concerns, or ask questions about Council decisions.
Pony Club jumps
The Waimate Pony Club is in the process of replacing 18 jumps within Knottingley Park and Arboretum following discussions earlier this year with Council’s Parks and Reserves team about the purchase of new jumps. The proposal was accepted as the jump locations remain unchanged and the new jumps offer a significant upgrade in both appearance and rider safety.
Tackling tyre waste
Waimate District Council is proud to announce that we are now a Tyrewise registered partner. Tyrewise is New Zealand’s regulated product stewardship scheme for end-of-life tyres. The scheme tracks tyres via a network of registered participants throughout their life cycle to ensure they are recycled and repurposed into useful products.
