Creative communities grants awarded
Successful applicants for the latest round of the Creative Communities Scheme funding have been announced for the Waimate District with $25,730 being awarded between 11 groups and individuals.
Your library at your place
Did you know that you can still access library items even if you can’t make it in person to the library? The service that allows you to check out items from the Waimate Library without physically coming to the library has been running for five years and has now been renamed Books 2 You.
Safe disposal of paint
Paint is considered hazardous waste and cannot be collected at the Waimate Resource Recovery Park or placed in any kerbside collection bins while liquid. Disposing of it correctly helps protect the environment and keeps our community safe.
Consultation open
The consultation is now open for the Gambling and TAB Venues Policy with submissions closing at midday on Monday 25 May. The proposed change is administrative only, correcting the maximum number of gaming machines permissible at a Class 4 venue.
