Air out your tent or kit out your caravan. There are just 16 days until campsites at the Waimate Lakes open. Season tickets are $525 for two adults and two dependants. Tickets are available at Council, Kurow Caltex and the Lakes Camping Office at Waitangi East. You can also buy your ticket at Fisherman’s Bend through the Penny system. If you choose this option, please bring your electronic receipt to the Lakes Camping Office at Waitangi East to collect your ticket.
Please note we will be operating a traffic management plan on opening day, 13 September 2025. There will be separate car parking areas for Waitangi East, Waitangi West and Te Akatarawa Reserve. The sequence that you park in will be the sequence you enter. Police from Kurow will be helping on the day. Please be respectful to others as you wait to enter the campgrounds – remember these will be your fellow campers.
There will be a free BBQ and raffle on site using your season ticket number to celebrate the opening day and one lucky camper will win a half-price ticket for next season (2026/2027).
