Mayor's Column

As we look ahead to a new term of Council, I am honoured to return as your Mayor for a fifth term. It will be exciting to work alongside a phenomenal team of councillors. Local governments are facing significant challenges, and the decisions Council makes over the next three years will shape our district for decades to come. It is a responsibility we take seriously, and we will ensure that we do what’s best for our community. I urge everyone to stay engaged through these important conversations and have your say whenever the opportunity arises.

Council has confirmed Councillor Sandy McAlwee as the Deputy Mayor, and I have no doubt that he will do an incredible job. He has been a valued member of Council for the past six years and is more than capable to step up to the job. I want to congratulate all my fellow elected members and thank the ones who put their hand up to represent our community. A special thanks to all the voters.
