On Tuesday 28 October, our newly elected members were sworn in as Mayor and Councillors for the Waimate District Council.
The ceremony saw all elected members sign their declarations and share their vision, hopes and aspirations for the district.
A common thread among all speeches was their profound pride in our district and their commitment to do their best for our community.
At Council’s inaugural meeting on 31 October, Councillor Sandy McAlwee was confirmed as the Deputy Mayor. Council also made appointments to several committees and external organisations. You can find videos of all the speeches, and a list of all committees and appointments below:
