Fulton Hogan has successfully completed the first year of a two-year road resealing contract with Council. This has delivered 32km of resealing work, representing 5.6 per cent of the district’s sealed road network.
Valued at a total of $3.2 million across both years, the contract is focused on enhancing the durability and performance of Waimate’s roads by addressing routine deterioration caused by traffic, weather, and ageing infrastructure.
Regular resealing is essential for preserving road quality, preventing the formation of potholes, and extending pavement lifespan. Through this proactive approach to road maintenance, Council continues to prioritise long-term value for ratepayers while ensuring its road network remains safe, efficient, and suitable for future needs.
Preparations are now underway for the second year of the contract, with the remaining resealing work scheduled for completion in the resealing season next summer.
