Heritage Grant Approved
A grant of $337.64 has been awarded to the Waimate Historical Society for the purchase of materials for the safe and secure storage of records and objects within the collection, as well as borer bombs to help prevent and control insects within the complex. Council’s contribution represents half of the total project cost.
New Joint Representative for Downlands
Jamie Eggleton has been appointed as a Joint Council Representative for the Waimate and Mackenzie District Councils on the Downlands Water Scheme Joint Committee. The appointment follows the resignation of the former representative, Bill Wright who had held the position for ten years.
Waimate2gether Secures Council Representation
Councillor Rick Stevens has been appointed as Council’s representative on Waimate2gether, acting as a liaison between the two organisations to ensure an effective relationship and encourage robust communication. The position is effective until the upcoming local body elections in September when representatives for groups and organisations will be reviewed.
